On February 2014, millions of Venezuelans were spots all over the country, protesting peacefully to get answers for the lack of security, food, medicine, etc.
The response to these events has been silenced with bullets, many of the students killed, others are still missing, others appeared with signs of torture in mass graves, more than 100 are in prison, sentences invented in inhuman condition. On 18 September 2014 with Carla Posada, and Sonia Mackintosh, we decided to create an association to help more and thus was born UVS.Org. We help 20 prisoners but we need to find other resources to help employees and others.
On the anniversary of the International Day of Human Rights, the 10/12/14, we went to the European Parliament, taking with us a complete file of all cases: dead, tortured, prisoners and prosecuted. For this, we are now “persona non grata” and would be imprisoned if we go back to our country.
Instead of silence us, this arrogance drives us to still working more and more, with determination and Passion for those who are paying only for expressing their thoughts. We can’t remain silent, we are now involved with the victims and their family. It would be more cowardly and complicit remain silent. The citizens must solve the political problems, but violations, repression and abuse of power must involve all human beings. We are in contact with other associations, courageous professionals, who help the sick prisoners and detainees, who do not receive health care and legal assistance. For them, the group called FUNDECI, we are organizing our first charity dinner in London.
It will be lovely to have you with us, to motivate our job, to be the voice of the voiceless.
